Tips for Beating Baby Jet Lag

  • Use daylight. Natural light is the strongest signal for resetting body clocks — get outside in the morning at your destination (especially after travelling east).
  • Keep the bedtime routine identical. Same books, same songs, same sleeping bag — familiar cues tell your baby it's night, whatever the clock says.
  • Switch to local time on arrival. Serve meals and naps on the destination schedule from day one, even if the first couple of days are a little rough.
  • Don't stress about the flight itself. Let your baby sleep when they want to in the air — start the new schedule when you land, not mid-flight.
